In case you missed it, one of the greatest news stories of the year made its way across the internet the last few days and ended up destroying one of the most ridiculous liberal arguments known to man.
The Washington Redskins have been a professional football team since 1932 but the liberal left decided a few years ago that the team name was just too racist and too offensive toward Native Americans to remain in place.
It’s an issue that Democrats have even complained about on the Senate floor.
Don’t worry about the national debt, ISIS, or the economy. No no. Let’s worry about NFL team names..
Members of the media have even started referring to the team as “Washington” just to stick it to the “racist” organization.
However, survey results were revealed this week that completely blew that narrative out of the water.
From Washington Post:
Nine in 10 Native Americans say they are not offended by the Washington Redskins name, according to a new Washington Post poll that shows how few ordinary Indians have been persuaded by a national movement to change the football team’s moniker.
The survey of 504 people across every state and the District reveals that the minds of Native Americans have remained unchanged since a 2004 poll by the Annenberg Public Policy Center found the same result. Responses to The Post’s questions about the issue were broadly consistent regardless of age, income, education, political party or proximity to reservations.
The overwhelming majority of Native Americans clearly don’t care about the Redskins name which should put an end to the conversation right? We asked for their opinion and we got it. Case closed?
Nope. Not for the liberal media. Apparently, the media knows how Native Americans feel about the situation better than Native Americans do.
From The Daily Caller:
During Thursday’s broadcast of “Around the Horn,” a group of ESPN reporters suggested that the 9 out of 10 Native Americans surveyed in a recent Washington Post poll about the Redskins’ team name don’t know what they’re talking about.
“It could just be that others don’t know the history of it and therefore aren’t offended,” noted Israel Gutierrez. “There’s so much history there. Maybe even Native Americans don’t know the history.”
I mean, seriously? Is this really happening? We asked Native Americans how they felt and they told us everything was cool and yet the media shifts to this ridiculous narrative that Native Americans are wrong about how they feel.
This is a perfect example of how the liberal mind operates in 2016. Facts don’t matter. What people actually think doesn’t matter. Liberals firmly believe they are the smartest people in the room and that they are the only ones who can decide if something is racist or not.
All hope is lost if we can’t even agree on issues where 90% of the people who are polled have already agreed.
This is called a manufactured crisis and liberals continue to create them for no other reason than to divide people and pit them against each other for political gain.
