The horrific story that we heard about in Flint, Michigan where residents of the blue collar town were told they had been drinking lead poisoned water for over a year captured the attention of the entire country.

Immediately, the dishonest mainstream media pounced on Republican Governor Rick Snyder and failed to adequately report that President Obama’s Environment Protection Agency (EPA) knew about the poisoned water for at least a year and didn’t tell the people of Flint about it.

But it gets worse.

Not only did the EPA know, but internal memos reveal a callous disregard for telling the innocent victims of Flint.

From The Daily Caller:

Utah Republican Rep. Jason Chaffetz, chairman of the House oversight committee, revealed an internal EPA memo during a hearing Tuesday between agency officials responsible for overseeing clean water operations in Michigan. The September 2015 memo said, “I’m not so sure Flint is the community we want to go out on a limb for.”

EPA officials, however, knew of the lead leaching for months before the news went public. EPA spent months quietly warning state regulators of the lack of corrosion controls for Flint’s water supplies. The EPA told the state it needed to use chemical treatments to prevent lead lines and plumbing from getting into Flint’s drinking water, but the agency did nothing to publicize its concerns over the city’s water despite the state’s refusal to control against lead poisoning.

This blog has told you plenty of times about nefarious activity at the EPA that has walked the line between criminal and immoral but this is a damning piece of evidence that truly illuminates the disregard that this federal agency has for American citizens.

People were getting sick and in some cases dying from this contaminated water and rather than blow the whistle and tell the people, the EPA was arguing behind the scenes as to what to do and debating whether or not the people of Flint were worth going out on a limb for.

Disgraceful no matter how you slice it.
